When plans go awry
Sport is much more than just winning or losing. Every experienced athlete is aware that months and sometimes years of preparation and planning go into every major event. Nevertheless, the well-known saying applies: “Man plans, and God laughs.” The picture of pole vaulter Kamila Przybyla from Poland serves as a symbol of this wisdom. It is obvious from her facial expression that a plan has failed. The honesty of the moment makes this photo unique.
