The humanly possible in the impossible
Cheerleading is normally a sport that requires precision, strength and aesthetics. The image shown, however, tells a different story. At the top of a human pyramid is a young girl whose facial expression is characterized by uncertainty and nervousness. Fear, insecurity and a longing to belong are reflected in her face. Her teammates below also seem perplexed, and their faces fluctuate between confusion and compassion. It’s as if the otherwise polished world of cheerleading is made more authentic by this flawed moment. It shows us that perfection is often overrated, and that our flaws and imperfections make us more human and tangible
