Off into the water
There are moments in life that are unpredictable and tell the most interesting stories in pictures. The photographer of this photo probably never expected that he would take such a unique picture when he switched on his camera. The subject actually appears to be floating on the water, as if he is about to make an impressive and painful belly landing. It is actually just a few seconds before the athlete falls into the cool water. This perfectly timed photo serves as a lasting visual trophy for this fleeting moment, although the subsequent plunge was certainly less glamorous.
